February meeting a productive one
Posted Feb. 12
The February 4 meeting of the Data Quality Work Group drew another full house, as close to 60 people made time from their busy schedules to attend the Salem session. We had representation from K-12, ESDs, ODE & Higher Ed. Updates were provided on the essential elements of the Oregon DATA Project: Instructional strands 1-3; the technical strands; Oregon's growth model; and the six regional data warehouses.
Work group members provided input on how best to map out Year 3 of the project as it moves from "training" to "practice." The particulars of how best to evaluate ESD follow-up support were discussed, and a lively discussion on Oregon's growth model also took place.
Representatives from the data warehouses indicated that the training and support offered through the DATA Project is creating increased requests for data from their districts--exactly what the project is designed to do. COSA and OSBA are partnering with the DATA Project: The COSA training platform builds from project work and COSA directs K-12 to contact their ESDs for additional training and support. OSBA is working with project staff to design training for board members so a consistent framework and language is being used. For notes from the meeting, click HERE. For the agenda, click HERE.
See you in May at our next meeting!
